What’s on my Easel, June 🎨

I’ve been trying to decide how to set up these posts…..I really don’t want to do a post for every painting (How boring for you!). So my idea is to do a monthly “On my Easel” post and add projects as I go through the month. This way I get a record of my work & progress and I don’t drive my family crazy (that get my e-mails with every post).

These last few months I have been doing You Tube classes , podcasts & demos to help me enjoy painting even more and to feel more comfortable. Feel more comfortable? you ask…. Yes, after years of no extra time due to work & home life I now am working on getting rid of the guilt and not worrying about wasting paint! Of course I can only do this due to a change in circumstances, retirement.

So here starts June with a straggler from the end of May .

8x8in oil – Working on a loser style with care to composition and color values.

Latter in June……..

I got a painting present 🎁… A Pochade Painting Box for taking my painting with me to fun places.

It’s very cool…. it’s the size of a cigar box, that canvas I’m painting on is 8×10 in. So perfect for travel. This here is it’s “maiden run” at a local park. You might be able to see that i practice artist 👩‍🎨 prerogative and made my distance as hills instead of neighborhood. It’s the tree I wanted to capture. So now you may be seeing more outside shots of paintings 👍🏻.

As June wraps up I’ve been working on several “tree pictures” … these are in progress…..
