So, on our free day we did venture ( with directions from Jennifer 💐) to get ourselves from Newark Airport to “Downtown , Penn Station” in Manhattan. Then from there to ” Uptown, Columbus Circle” which was the southern corner of Central Park ( at that point we had to learn the meaning on “Downtown &Uptown” and got turned around but then corrected ourselves and finally made it to Columbus Circle!). So, now I was happy and thought… look we are at Central Park so we will “hang” for a while. Well….. Central Park is HUGE so after all that running we are now looking for “The Ramble” because that’s the best birding area per Steve 💕👍. We walked…and walked…. and thanks to our Central Park app and GPS we found the area! But….. also thanks to the city of NY for having a free concert there that night….there where people EVERY WHERE!
Even still STEVE did still see a Cardinal 🐦 which he can add to our life list ( that’s a good thing👍). The Park is beautiful and I’m so glad we went, but we are already run off our feet from previous tours so now we are really running 🏃 on empty. We wanted to be on train to airport before dark… we ended up walking back the length of the park to find Columbus Circle then head back to Penn Station which was 1 block away from our subway stop. By the time we got our train we stuffed into that ( literally… standing right at the door the whole train ride home) and got back to Newark Airport to the get shuttle to Motel …. AND , we did all that on 1 hotdog 🌭 and 💦 water. AND along the waits at airport and train we ran into brothers and sisters that where also there “touring” most from California. Who knew!
You know…. I’m writing this down because I want a record of our day…so I don’t forget it lol!
