Today was the day we took a “big” train out into the Normandy country side to visit the French branch office. It is located about an hour and half outside Paris.
Thanks to Collete and Bob in Santa Cruz, we had a friend there who we have been emailing about our visit. Nick met us at the train station with a sign in hand with “Steve and Joy Deschenes” written on it! So of course we couldn’t miss him, lol. He then drove us to the Bethel site and took us directly to his work offices to introduce us to some of his friends, he works in the accounting offices there. After that we then went to the main dinning room for lunch with the Bethel family and afterwards we were invited to his apartment to visit more with those we had eaten with at his table and have coffee/espresso and dessert.
Then while they all went back to work one of his friends Chris who does tours took us around to some of the departments. We knew that they had been doing remodeling there but they also have expanded to new buildings so we got to see that too. There is no printing at this branch, that is done in the London and German branches. The French branch manages the translation of articles and litature and they also have a “writing” department that submits articles etc. to the New York branch for approval. So we will have lots to tell you when we get back… Here’s a few interior pictures I took , Steve will have even more.
